Effect across the cycle

DesireFacilitatory: Disinhibition raises desire and lowers sexual restraint.
ArousalFacilitatory: Subjective enhancement of touch and sensuality.
PerformanceBiphasic: Facilitatory at low dose; sedation abolishes performance as dose rises.
ClimaxMixed: Reports vary; sedation can blunt orgasm.
ExperienceFacilitatory: Euphoric, tactile, disinhibited — the reported draw of the drug.
MemoryInhibitory: Sedative doses impair encoding.

Mechanism

GABA-B (and GHB-receptor) agonist. Produces euphoria, disinhibition and heightened sensuality that lower sexual inhibition. A very short half-life drives redosing, and the margin between euphoriant and sedating/coma doses is narrow.

Pharmacokinetics
Half-life under an hour; steep dose-response into CNS depression.
Reversibility
Acute; overdose risk (sedation, coma, death) is the dominant danger.

Sex differences & notes

Central to chemsex; disinhibition facilitates condomless encounters with multiple partners.
